The Card Capital Shop Tournament: Day 1

The day had come and Card Capital was filled with spectators and Fighters alike. There was a large amount of whispers and sounds coming from the area as the manager looked out at everyone in celebration. "Just looked at that, Yuki. Only the first day and the shop is already filled."

Zach was standing outside of the shop, waiting for Sera. He knew she would come to watch, if only to see what would happen. It had been a while since he had seen her, but mostly because he was focused on preparing himself for the tournament.

Yuki simply lies back on her chair, putting her feet on the counter as she shrugs. "Let's just hope we can fish out some good people to represent you."

Sera runs up to Zach, panting lightly. "Sorry...I got caught up back at home..." She manages to say as she regains her strength. "At any rate...it's really packed in there..."

"Yeah, its pretty crowded in there, but there should be room for us," he said as he opened the door. "We aren't fighting today, but we should look at what happens in case we have to fight some of the winner tomorrow."

The manager grinned lightly as he said, "Oh, but that's the reason for this format..." he said lightly. He lifted up a microphone that was in his hand and said, "Okay, everyone! Its about time to begin! We have quite a lot of people here today. So many, in fact, that a lot of you probably won't be battling until tomorrow. That said, Its time to begin the first round of today's event!"

"Y-Yeah!" Sera said as she walks inside, trying to make sure she doesn't fall down from people pushing and shoving.

"Just skip to the pairings already...This is boring and i dont thikn people can take the wait any longer." Yuki said as she stretches and yawns.

The manager looked down with a sweatdrop of disappointment as he removed the sheeting cover of the wall to reveal the brackets of the first round. "Hey, looks like Nova's in one of the first matches!" someone called out. It was obvious that Nova Egret was a player most people would be looking at in this tournament. Nova himself was there, giving a small grin at the pairings before he gave a small yawn.

"Eh?" Sera perks up as she heard someone say Nova's name. Before she could realize it herself, she runs itno him, falling back slightly. "Ow...Oh, Nova! I'm sorry!" She quickly bows as she looks at him nervously. "I...Uhh...I mean...Good luck in your matches!"

Nova looked down, Seeing Sera all but fall over. Nova smiled lightly and said, "Oh, its you. It doesn't look like you're fighting today... Too bad..." With those odd words, he turned and started to walk away. "I heard you wanted to see different battle styles. You should know the deck I used that day was a slightly modified version of the Nova Grappler deck I made at that time. I'll be using a more true deck today." He started to walk to the tables, his eyes almost dazed as if he was thinking of something entirely different.

Sera blinks a few times as Nova walks off before standing up. "Huh...he seems different..."

"All right, tyou guys, first round's starting! Get to the tables if you're fighting!" Yuki shouts out, ignoring the manager. A dark blue haired girl smirks as she punches the air. "All right! Time for some trolling!"

Nova closed his eyes lightly as his hand was to his deck. His starting unit was already prepared as he awaited his opponent. Zach turned over to the blue haired girl with a strange look. I haven't really heard of her coming here before... Did she sign up and leave before I showed up?"

"Stand up, Godhawk, Ichiyaboshi!" The girl shouts as both her and her opponent started off the fight. Sera looks around at the first few starting matches before sighing. "I don't think I'll stand a chance in getting the finals..." she pouts as she watches the matches.

"Don't be so hard on yourself," Zach said as he gave her a thumbs up. "You were able to beat that Maria girl, so I'm sure you'll be able to do this too."

"It looks like this is about over..." Nova said as he looked down at the field. He had 4 damage while his opponent had 3. "I call... Deatharmy Guy, Deatharmy Lady... Due to their skills, if a Grade 3 Unit is revealed in my Drive check, they both stand. Also, because Asura Kaiser is my current vanguard, it too can stand a unit, like the Genocide Jack I still have active. With the four cards in your hand, can you really defend? I wonder."

"I guess you're right." Sera tries to smiles at Zach as she watches Nova's fight. She glances over at the blue haired girl who just superior rode.

"Now...Counterblast!" She counterblasts twice and draws two cards befoer sending Goddess of the crescent moon tot he soul. "Tsukuyomi's at full power! And guess what? I calll out Silent Tom and Battle Maiden Tagitsume!" She calsl the two cards out in front of two Geminis. "It's over for you!"

"Now go! Genocide Jack, Deatharmy Lady!" Nova called out at the last two units attacked, causing the opponent to take six damage. Zach whistled lightly and said, "He attacked with his rears and then stood them all by Drive Checking Grade 3s. Anybody else and that wouldn't been the end, but he made it work. That girl there isn't too bad either, but something about her makes it feel like she's not taking it seriously."

"Attack! Silent Tom!" The girl points at her opponent as they were hit by Silent tom powerwed by a critical trigger, taking 6 damage as well. "And that, people, is what you call a troll!" She said, grinning.

Sera's eyes widen as the two people didn't have any trouble in their fights at all. "Wow..."

Clapping could be head behind her as she turns around, her eyes widen to see Zeiro in nothing but his grey school uniform. He walks past Zach and Sera as a smile adorns his face. "Well, well...Congratulations, Nova Raizer." He said as he was now standing next to him. "Although something like this is quite easy for you...isnt' it?"

Zach instantly stopped, giving a small glare to Zeiro as he was walking past them. Nova had his eyes closed, his usual grin gone as he seemed much more serious now with his arrival. "I don't know if you have a reason for being here, but don't expect me to be grateful for your praise... Zeiro... just what are you doing here?"

"Oh? Why the sudden harshness, Nova?" Zeiro grins as he uses the table to support him."I'll just get straight to the point...After all, you suck at hiding, you know?" She glances over at Sera, who was distracted by another cardfight. "I have to thank you...You already approached our amnesia induced friend over there, didn't you?"

Nova's expression turned into a complete glare as he turned to Zeiro and said, "She doesn't have anything to do with you! I already told you what would happen if you continued your games." Zach merely blinked, seeing them talking and noticing Nova getting worked up, but he didn't seem to be able to hear anything. "After that day, I made my goal clear. If you want to try and stand in my way, I'll fight you with everything I have!" Nova said, just low enough to not be overheard but enough for Zeiro to know how serious he was.

"Oh my! The great Nova Raizer losing his temper!" Zeiro snickers at Nova's rather violent reaction. "Say what you will, but just remember that I'm only a follower, not a leader. Besides, we got to the girl first...although it seems she forgotten about that." He crosses his arms, the grin never leaving his face. "After all, he manages to defeat our little girl with a Shadow Paladin Deck...especially with Overlord's Persona Blast. I can hardly see her as having nothing to do with it. We even got a nice little 'show'..."

"Just keep your influences away from her," Nova said as he turned again and began to walk away. "From her and from this place. I've gotten comfortable, so if you do anything to harm that, you won't like the result." He turned to see that the round of fights had ended. "You won't have another..." he said lightly as he started to walk away.

Zeiro watches as Nova walks away, the grin never leaving his face. "Guess you'll just have to see tomorrow...Might be in for a surprise or two." With that, he heads out of the shop.

"N-Nova!" Sera runs up to him as she starts fiddling with her fingers. "Ummm...that was a nice fight you had."

"It's nice, isn't it?" Nova said, a form of his usual tone within his words. "Using your own power to win. I'll probably win my other matches in the same way... with my power." As he spoke, his hand rose, revealing his deck. "A strong image of winning by my own strength... that's all anyone should need." With that said, he started walking towards the tables.

"It seems as though round 1 is complete!" the manager said with excitement. "Now its time to begin the second rounds. With the number of participants remaining, we can hold the remaining matches simultaneously. So, if everyone's ready, Let's Vanguard!"

"....Eh?" Sera blinks as Nova's words confused her slightly, watching him walk to the tables. She tilts her head before looking at Zach. "Do you know what he means by that?"

Zach shrugged as she asked the question as he had no idea what he was talking about either. "I dunno... but he seemed to have a big problem with that Zeiro guy just now. Pretty strange..."

"Eh? Zeiro was here?" Sera widens her eyes as she looks around, seeing no sight of the tall man. It WAS odd that he came over here, but she really couldn't wrap her head around it.

"ARGH! TSUKUYOMI, YOU BITCH!" She nearly jumped at the sound of someone yelling as she turns around, seeing the blue girl ruffling her hair. Apparently, she wasn't able to superior ride half because it was in her damage zone.

Zach's eyes widened as he looked onward to see her match. At the same time, Nova called out, "This is the end!" Upon looking at his field, it seemed completely full with Genocide Jack as his vanguard who had yet to attack and the opponent already had 5 damage. "Battleraizer boost, Genocide Jack attack! Skill activate, power plus 5k!" He opponent looked on with widened eyes as his damage reached 6 with one attack.
