Digimon - World of the Unknown

"What was that...?"

After a certain amount of passed time, BlackExVeemon drew his wings together and came to a land upon a broken street, his crimson eyes trailing across the area. He silently let the others off, watching as Takato jumped off his shoulder and held up his Digivice. "I'm getting a reading, but it seems odd..."

His eyes narrowed and he took a glance over his shoulder, turning to meet BlackExVeemon as the beast began to rapidly look around at the destruction. The once "justice" Digimon seemed mad, tensing his muscles as he spoke in a gruff tone,

"Takato, we're nearing the Ultimate, but I can sense something else too."

The Rutherford nodded and put his hands in his pockets, his hair waving in an unseen wind. His amber eyes blinked once before his Digivice bleeped, his head lashing up as he gave a shout and began to dash. "Let's go! BlackExVeemon!"

"I'm on it!"

OOC: In English they refer Perfect as "Ultimate" and other such terms for ranks. Since Takato speaks English, he will be using those names, while others won't.

Akuramon, unlike BlackExVeemon, didn't stop jumping towards their destination. Soon, Groundramon came into full view. He spotted a group of digimon gathering aroudn as he saw a Biyomon under his claw.

"Get away!" He shouted to the digimon as he pushed off the building's roof with so much force, he caused a hole in it. The digimon quickly ran away, but only because they feared Akuramon was an ally of the Perfect level digimon. He narrowed his eyes as he was nearing his landing.

"Dusky Wave!" He shouted as he landed on the ground, creating a giant surrounding shockwave of dust and power. He created a crater below him as well as the wave quickly went towards Groundramon.

Zora quickly caught up with Takato. "Something's definetely wrong." She simply said. "Groundramon has been chasing us for weeks, but he's never attacked a town just to look for us. We have to be careful."

"Hey, wait!"

The brunette yelled that as she ran in the direction that Takato and BlackExVeemon were heading...at about half the speed. In addition to not being very good at karate, she was slow as molasses. It was well know she was one of, if not THE, slowest people in her school.

Wilbur followed her at the same speed, but it didn't seem to be because he was out of shape, just naturally slow.

After a good deal of time she caught up to the, doing her best not to pant. She really needed to exercise more...

"...So what do we do?"

Groundramon roared and took the full brunt of the attack, becoming encased in a sea of smoke. There was a deep huff, which was followed by a second roar, revealing the mostly unharmed beast. "Megaton Hammer Crush." A massive tail lashed outwards, tearing straight through a building before slamming down towards Akuramon.

Over on the leading path, Takato and BlackExVeemon came to a stop with a sharp grin on their faces, only for those grins to fall straight off upon the sight of the destruction. The Rutherford clenched his fist before giving a shout, a order barking over his lips,

"We do what we always do. We kick some ass! BlackExVeemon!"

Eyes flashed, a horn hiking,

"I'm on it."

The large black skinned beast flashed a smile and nod before he spread his wings and flew upwards, spreading out his arms. The mark on his chest gave a deep red glow for a few seconds before he let loose a howl. "VEE-LASER!"

Safe to say, Groundramon was completely unharmed.

"SON OF A BITCH!"

"What, were you expecting to even injure him?" Zora said as she stopped as well.

Akuramon jumped out of the way this time and backed away. ~I can't digivolve again since his attack really weaked me.~ He thought ,narrowing his eyes. ~I'll jsut have to do what I can.~ Both of his arms began to be surrounded by a black aura as he charged at Groundramon.

"Why don't you just leave us alone!!!" He shouted as he raised them both and slashed at him. "Nightmare Claw!!!!"

Dee nodded, still unsure. "Um, okay let's do that then."

She turned her head to the Tapirmon at her side. "Um, Wilbur, do you want to fight? I don't know how much help you can do, considering you're probably a lot weaker than that, but..."

Wilbur gave a nod, showing that he knew that but wanted to fight anyway.

"Okay, go do your thing then..." She said. This would be so much easier if it were Pokemon. She knew virtually everything about that...

Wilbur nodded again before shooting some sort of dark cloud off toward Groundramon. "Nightmare Syndrome." Was all that he said.

The Rutherford could only clench his fist as he watched on. Groundramon had been scratched by the attack, but it was just that, a minor scratch. Akuramon and BlackExVeemon just weren't strong enough to harm such a powerful Ultimate-level Digimon. His eyes went wide as the Groundramon was suddenly distracted by the small attack launched by Tapirmon, its eyes looking confused for a single moment before growing wild once again.

It was just long enough for Akuramon to hit him, inflicting another slight scar of damage. Groundramon roared at Akuramon for that offence, the massive hand-like wings lashing outwards to meet the blow with an intense shockwave of raw physical strength. The Ultimate didn't show a single emotion apart from mindless rage as it broke the clash, letting an almost lusting roar for destruction with a secondary attack. "Scrapless Claw!"

Takato grit his teeth before letting out a sigh, his lips levelling off into a sharp grin, bringing up a fist. "Injure him? Nope, we're going to do much worse than that. We're going to annihilate this creep! BlackExVeemon!"

"I'm on it!"

"I'd like to see you try..." Zora muttered.

Akuramon's eyes widen befoer he screamed in agony. He fell to the ground on one knee as he glared back at Groundramon. Now he was weaker than he was before; he can't possibly digivolve to Perfect level now.

"Dragon Wheel!"

His ears perked up as he heard the sound of someone's attack and jumped back as a blue spinning dragon ball hit Groundramon. It stopped spinning and the blue flames dissapeared, revealing a yellow, mythical fox of sorts. It jumped back and took a stance, knowing that the attack wasn't enough to take down the Digimon.

Dee and her partner just watched as the new Digimon appeared. What on earth was it? The girl was really starting to miss the original series, where she actually KNEW some of them.

Still, they might as well try to help. It seemed to be on their side.

"Well if it ain't broke don't fix it." Dee muttered as she watched the battle. "Why don't you try that move again Wilbur? I don't think it really hurt it but it gave the others an opening to attack at least." Hopefully it would work again, did Digimon build immunities?

The tapir-like beast gave a nod before sending out another shadowy cloud.

"Try? Just watch and learn!" Takato said, flashing a sharp grin as his Digivice began flashing. His eyes turned to gaze upon the newly arrived Kyubimon, before he studied the Groundramon, noting that it just looked even more pissed off. Yet, there was now a few minor wounds, even to the point that Groundramon actually seemed to be taking this seriously.

BlackExVeemon landed next to the Kyubimon before glancing at it with open eyes. "You're on our side? Cool." He turned with a shark-like grin towards the Groundramon and then clenched his fists, spreading out his wings as he began to notice something. The Groundramon was PISSED, big time.

"What the..?"

The large beast roared suddenly and sent its arms lashing over the heads of the gathered foursome of Digimon, coming straight down upon the tamers with a howling wind and not a hint of mercy. "Scrapless Claw!"

Eyes flew open,

"I'm on it."

Thankfully because of the move launched by Tapirmon, it gave BlackExVeemon enough time to turn into a blur and phase before the Humans, lashing out with his claws. Safe to say, overwhelming force won, but not without backing off. A pained scream echoed and Veemon hit the ground, eyes closing without another word.

"Veemon!?"

Groundramon didn't seem to care for the pity party, lashing out with his tail at the fox-like Digimon...

"Veemon!" Akuramon cried out as he was de-digivolved back into his Rookie form. He then noticed Groundramon attacking the strange digimon.

The digimon quickly jumped away from the attack. it paused, looking up at the sky, as if listening to some invisible voice. Soon, the blue flames she created started to cover her as she spun again.

"Kyubimon digivolve to..."

the flames grew bigger and faster before dispersing themselves, revealing a humanoid - looking digimon spinning to rido fthe flames. The only connection it had to Kyubimon was the yellow tail and her face, which looks like it was some sort of yellow fox mask, but otherwise, the digimon adorned some sort of japanese attire.

"Taomon."

Without a second to waste, Taomon jumped in the air as her sleeved-covered arms stretched out. Red spell tags shot out from her sleeves and quickly shot towards Groundramon.

"Thousand Spells!"

Dee felt her brain starting to overload again. There was far too much happening at once, and she didn't have a clue as to just what it was. This was so confusing...

The Tapirmon seemed confused as well, but didn't let it hinder him like it did his tamer. Another shadow cloud came from him as he once again said "Nightmare Syndrome!".

He wished he could do more though...

Veemon never moved as Takato bent down, clenching his fist as he heard the roars of Groundramon. It seemed the combined attacks of a new Ultimate-Level Digimon and Tapirmon were beginning to critically harm it, with it losing focus each time the small Rookie used the nightmare inflicting move.

".......Justice, huh?" whispered Rutherford as he gazed at Veemon, stunned by the fact that even in Dark Digivolution he had kept the morals and protective instinct of Veemon himself. Takato brought up his Digivice and then blinked, the screen turning blue as words crawled across it.

Digivolution.

"I see, you want to continue helping even when hurt, like Tapirmon and the others. Okay, lets do it! DNA CHARGE." roared Takato as he threw up his hand, a great light overtaking the downed Veemon. Eyes snapped open in an instant, data crawling along the air.

"Veemon Digivolve to...."

A large blue skinned fist punched through the air, slamming into Groundramon as a silver horn shone in the light. Two bright eyes flashed above a cheeky yet fierce grin, a voice booming with new life. A new purpose.

"...ExVeemon!"

Eyes gazed into the face of a beast, the fist lodged deep within a scaled cheek,

"Hey ugly, time for Round Two! VEE-PUNCH!"

"Akuramon, what are you doing just standing there?!" Zora shouted to her digimon. Ever since the arrival of the new digimon stranger, he did nothing but watch it with wide eyes. His asttention snapped back and his arms began to be covered in a dark shadow again.

"Talismand of light!" Taomon shouted as a giant calligraphy brush came out from her sleeves. She used it to draw some sort of symbol that started emitting a light to Groundramon before disappearing and appearing on his body.

Dee stared at ExVeemon, rather shocked. He had Digivolved normally? Did that mean that he wasn't going to turn into BlackExVeemon again? Or was this a one time thing?

This was confusing.

Wilbur used Nightmare Syndrome once more before he frowned. He was helping, he knew that. And yet it felt like he was doing absolutely nothing. After that attack he ran closer to the fray, past Dee and the others.

This finally snapped his tamer out of her stupor. "Hey, not again! Come back here!" Not really thinking, she began to run after him.

But before she reached him he was already at the foot of the dragon. The second she was close enough to pick him up he attacked the Groundramon so that she couldn't.

"Deleting Virus!"

"That had to hurt." whistled Takato as he watched the attacks collide with the large beast. Each one striking at the same time, with the final strikes from Tapirmon and Taomon sending him flying back into a cloud of dust and data. ExVeemon landed and looked at the cloud, noticing something odd,

"Did we get him...?"

A rather bright light began to shine from the dust cloud, a vortex of data spinning around the area. Two eyes snapped open and a blood chilling roar shook the land, a build up of energy licking across the senses of those in the area. Takato took a step backwards as his Digivice began to flash with a panic dressed crimson,

"N-No way! It can't be!"

ExVeemon froze at that, looking up as a massive shadow began to deck the area,

“Groundramon is Digivolving!”

Akuramon froze, his eyes widening as the Perfect level digimon, whom they could not even hope to creat a scratch, was digivolving yet again. ~This is my chance!~ He thought as he quickly rushed over. A digimon is at it's most vulnerable while it's digivolving. Taking both of his arms, which were covered with a black shadow for quite some time, he rushed over and slashed down at the Digivolving digimon.

"Nightmare Claw!"

TAomon narrowed her eyes as drew the same symbol as earlier. "Talisman of light!" She cried as the symbol made its way to Groudnramon. However, she was far from done. Retracting the brush back into her sleeve, a number of red tags shot out from her sleeves and rushed towards Groundramon.

"Thousand Spells!"

Wilbur shot off again, much to Dee's dismay. If they were going to attack head on, so was he. He did not want to be useless.

"Deleting Virus!"

Dee was once again shocked, and let him run off this time. The girl had thought that this was going to be next to impossible before! And there the thing went Digivolving!

Sometimes she thought the world was conspiring against her.

"Destroyed Rush."

Two large metal shovel-like arms burst outwards from the cloud of data, cleaving the earth in two as the attacks launched by the tamed Digimon merely bounced off a rusted steel plate. A blood chilling roar echoed, filled with nothing but the soulless cry of wanton destruction. ExVeemon moved, gathering the small Tapirmon in his muscular arms before taking the blow full-blank.

The justice dragon never had the chance to scream, using the last of its power to protect the small Rookie from the blow before hitting the earth and reverting to DemiVeemon with a stomach wrenching shout of torment. Yet streams of data were pouring off the wounded Digimon, its small form beginning to shatter,

Either way Brakedramon didn't care, coming fully out from the smoke,

Digivice Data - Brakedramon (Mega Level)
Brakedramon is a Machine Dragon Digimon. It is a giant Digimon said to exist in order to destroy everything on the ground. it does not falter from the damage its body suffers, and it is feared as an ultimate dragon of destruction that will continue destroying until it rusts away. After Brakedramon passes, not even data is left behind.

Akruamon and Taomon were both stunned beore jumping away from the area that Brakedramon was currently tearing up. Akuramon's eyes widen as he saw ExVeemon dedigivolving into DemiVeemon...and currently erodinga way into simpel data.

"Damn it...see what happens when you get cocky, bozu?!" Zora shouted at him before rushing over to DemiVeemon and Tapirmon.

Taomon narrowed her eyes as her hands shot out of her sleeves. "Talisman star!" she cried as a symbol appeared over in them, the symbol possesing razor sharp, red mystical energy. She threw it over to Brakedramon, which started to spin in his direction like a boomerang, before hitting him.

Needless to say, the Tapirmon was upset. He shouldn't need to be the one that was protected. He shouldn't! He wanted to be the one that could protect. That could be strong enough to do what DemiVeemon had just done for him.

He wanted to protect Dee.

He wanted to protect them all!

Suddenly Dee's Digivice flashed, as did Tapirmon's body. The girl looked from the device on her wrist to the Digimon. What was....

"Tapirmon Digivlove to..."

The light vanished to reveal a Pegasus-like creature with dark wings. He reared before slamming his hooves down to the pavement and tossing his head. He wore a red sort of mask and gave a loud cry.

"...Unimon!"

Dee just gaped.

The Unimon took to the skies with his new wings, as if flying came more than naturally to him. Wilbur then opened his mouth and a sort of light began to glow inside of it. "Aerial Attack!" He cried as the beam shot towards Brakedramon.

Brakedramon roared in pain, feeling the blows strike him with the raw fury of righteous might. Its metal skin cracked lightly as it bore down upon the Digimon with darkness filled eyes, data slowly streaming upwards around it. The fact that it Digivolved after it had already been damaged, only to get more hurt, simply didn't help it one bit.

"Gravity Press!"

Thus, it decided to cave in the earth with its form, hoping to crush the remaining Digimon with force alone. The watching Rutherford just stood stunned before dashing over the limp DemiVeemon and kneeling down, his unheard whispers shattering his heart. A tear landed on the small In-Training Digimon, a sob making its way past his lips,

"....Why..?"

Dee bit her lip as she stared at Takato and DemiVeemon. Her mind was just sort of chanting 'please don't die please don't die please don't die' over and over again.

She felt so USELESS...

The chubby girl forced herself to get a grip and turned to the battle at hand. The newly Digivolved Unimon was still recovering from the Gravity Press. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. "WILBUR!" She cried out, hands positioned to make the sound louder.

His head turned weakly in her direction.

"WE'VE GOT TO WIN THIS!" Continued Dee, mentally cursing that she was tearing up. "I...I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE WE CAN DO! BUT..." She couldn't help glancing at Takato and DemiVeemon again. "BUT IF DON'T DO THIS AT LEAST IT WILL ALL BE FOR NOTHING!"

The girl dropped her hands and clenched them tightly. "ONE MORE ATTACK, EVERYTHING YOU GOT!"

Wilbur gave a nodded, and seemed to be a bit stronger now. Turning to Brakedramon, he charged up another attack, his mouth glowing.

"AERIAL ATTACK!l"

Taomon's eyes widen before she attemptedto jump out of range. However, she was far too close to dodge it and was hit by it's shockwave. With the little strength that she ahd elft, three red tags shot out from her sleeve.

"T-Talisman Spell."

The red tags made their way to Dee/Unimon, Akuramon/Takato/DemiVeemon, and Zora. A medium sized barrier surrounded them, protecting them from any further damage. However, the shockwave was so strong that it shattered the barrier the moment it passed. Taomon narrowed her eyes as she finally succumbed to lack of energy and de-digivolved all the way back to her In-Training form.

Zora and Akuramon froze, seeing Taomon turning back into Viximon. Her eyes widen to the point where she just couldn't believe it. She slowly turned to Takato and Dee, seeing the two of them in such a state.

"No..." She muttered, backing away as she lowered her head. her hands balled up into fists as tears streamed down from her face, hitting the ground. Clenching her teeth, her digivice was surrounded by an ominous aura of sort. the same aura surrounded Akuramon, who could only stare at Viximon in such disbelief. Soon, he let out an agonizing scream as a beam of dark light shot down upon him.

"Akuramon Dark Digivolve to..."

His entire body grew black, his yellow symbols fading into darkness. As the black light faded away, tehre stood an even bigger being than Akuramon. One could describe it as a 'Shadow Rabbit'. The only major different other than it bieng completely a shadow aws that his large ears were no longer lopsided. He opened his yellow eyes - his completely filled yellow eyes - and stared at Brakedramon. His mouth open to what looks liek a grin...a very insane grin with jagged teath.

"Kuraganimon."

With that said, he started walking slowly towarsd Brakedramon, his massive arms drooping in fromt of him swayed from side to side with each step. He suddenly stopped, a few ways away from Brakedramon before he raised one of his arms and opened up his hand (which was hard to tell, considering he was nothing but a shadow). A small bkac orb floated in it and he smiiled once again. before playfully tossing it to the Mega level digimon.

"Shadow Void."

The orb went over to Brakedramon and, on contact, expanded so quickly and so big, it covered the entire digimon in blackness. Soon, the now-shadowed Brakedramon started to shrink, little by little. the sounds of metal being slowly crushed echoed throughout the area as Kuraganimon merely stood there, grinning.

Brakedramon gave once last roar before the sounds of data crashing to the floor could be heard, the broken earth making a fitting grave for the beast. A newly formed Mega couldn't take on this much damage, thus the last two attacks from the Champion and Ultimate buried the beast in a sea of pain before it exploded into dust.

It left no data, or egg.

It was truly soulless.

Takato never said a word as he stood up, his head bowed. Tears streaked down his cheeks, a dull smile crossing his lips. He held the wounded DemiVeemon in his arms, slowly coming to walk towards the other tamers. Yet, he paused.

He could hear someone clapping.

"Well done, well done."

A white haired boy stood looking down at that from a fallen tree, his hands in his pockets. He was wearing a simple red shirt with a sleeveless jacket over it. A small Digimon stood next to him, grinning grimly at the large black Ultimate.

"You defeated my weaker Digimon, bravo."

Takato narrowed his eyes,

"Your Digimon!?"
