Calamity Trigger - Sin (World: Spira)

"Following Yuna isn't going to help us. Still, you have a point..." trailed Takato as he leant against the boat, his mind flashing at Ima's spoken words. He would speak to the multicoloured girl later on, when they were alone. They needed to discuss something.

He blinked silently as he heard Raven speak, suiting to answer him himself. "Machina, or machines. It is what Yevon depicts as forbidden. I do not truly understand it, what with a giant monster trying to kill everything in Spira walking around. Why does this world make itself weaker..?"

Yuna tried to tune out the Magi, suiting to answer the small girl with a small smile. "I-It was my pleasure. I couldn't just stand there and do nothing after all..."

"Sounds pretty careless to me."

Raven answered. So all this hate was from his guns? He had used them his entire time fighting, this was just second nature, but in this strange land they saw it as a crime against whaever god they worhsipped? Whatever, let 'em get used to it. He was a visitor to whatever place this was, all he knew was that he needed to find a way back to where ever he could be useful, anywhere he could call a 'home'.

"But, to everyone their own I guess. I wasn't out to make any enemies but........"

He motioned to a few of the passangers with his head, his hair lightly moving. He laughed slightly as he spoke.

"Guess I did a crap job at that?"

TIME SKIP

The ship had just pulled into the port of the town known as Kilika.A simple place, yet oh so beautiful. Wooden walk ways crossed over the churning sea, the sun at an early rise giving the waters below an orange hue. A few small children ran past the port, practicing their blitzball out of water. Palm trees swayed in the light breeze. All was calm.

The ship's crew had lowered a large wooden off-loading ramp, passangers already making their way into the village. All they wanted was to get off that Yevon foresaken ship and escape whatever else could happen.

Among them was the traveler from the strange land, at least to the citizens of Spira, but apparently he wasn't the only one. Raven scanned the area with his silver gaze, taking in the view of this 'paradise'. He didn't see much to it, wood, water, trees, more of the same. He pulled his coat further, trying to cover up his two guns at his side. If they were going to cause him that much of a problem, he would've rathered keeping them a secret until need be.

This was where his new mission was going to take place. He figured that those other warriors, a strange motley crew they were, were his best chance of finding action and perhaps bring him closer to gaining his ultimate goal. He was going to tag along with them, plus that sense of the death wasn't going to escape him. For all he knew, it was a hell spawn in disguise, and killing those was what he did best. Plus Yuna wasn't so hard on the eyes, he found that a plus.

OOC: So I did the time skip according to the fact that Sin was driven off. If i was wrong, feel free to correct it.

Zora walked up to the dock and stretched her arms as she took in the site of the village around her. She turned to a resident that was at the dock to see his family. "Hey, could you tell me where the inn is?"

"Oh, it's right over tehre." He replied as he turned and pointed to a small hut. Zora nodded to him before turning to Takato, Ima, and Yuna. "Well, I'm gonna catch a few Z's before we do anything...see ya guys later!" She said, waving at them with her bandaged right arm before running off to the inn.

Raven spied the strange girl making her way to the inn. That arm of hers.........it was't normal. Possession perhaps? He didn't sense anything, so he would cast off the thoughts of her being a threat. It seemed everyone in the group had their own methods of battle, but that they were connect on the common good.

Raven looked over the injured Magi, the odd little girl, and the Lady Summoner who seemed to have mixed emotions about him. He specifically looked at Takato, thinking him to be the most useful for his cause.

"Takato, those spells you were using. Do you think you can forge me for more ammunition? I was running short when I got onboard and well........."

He crossed his arms, his eyes closing as yet another smirk crossed his face. he tilted his head to the side, the hair swaying from his view as he once again made eye contact with them.

"If I'm going to be tagging along and escorting me lady to whatever it is her goal is, I'm going to need it."

He then flashed a grin of slight arrogance, seemingly forcing himself upon the group at first, until he uttered the next phrase.

"That is, if you'll have me."

“Ammunition? Sure, 'least I can do.” Takato said as he took a gander at the guns the man had with him, making note of the style before nodding to himself. He could make some basic bullets with any raw metal material he could get his hands on, but they were going to be lacking in a few things, including basic lead. Thus he would have to substitute with a few enchantment spells, and seals that would make them Armour Piercing. “I'll be at the local trader store. Just come meet me in an hour, they should be done by then.”

He then paused and scratched his chin, noting back something. “I'll need to borrow your guns too, so I can make sure to get the basic form and modification. The last thing you need is these bullets not even getting through the skin of fiends because I didn't get the correct statistics.” He hummed before holding up his finger in question. “Would you like me to add anything extra? My magic is too unstable for the advanced stuff, but I should be able to add things such as a Incendiary or Poison seal.”

Yuna and her companions seemed almost appalled that the Magi was talking about creating such forbidden Machina with ease. A certain blonde blitzballer seemed intrigued, while the rather sensuous Black Mage had a rather interested spark within her eyes. Western Magic was quite common on Earth in such places like England, but Spira had no such teachings. The Summoner was broken from her thoughts, her voice low as she bowed,

“..I-I should go.” She seemed to ignore the questions thrown at her by the smooth white gunman, the sound of a rather annoying looking Wakka tapping his foot with his arms crossed echoing in the distance. Tidus gave a nod and ran to join her, meeting the others in a joint group as they began to head towards the Inn themselves.

This left a remaining trio. Takato, Ima, and Raven.

OOC: Takato = Smart? No. He's just a graduated student from a Magi academy (instead of a simple school, much like in Negima), and has a ton of books (cheat sheets). On the other hand, asking him about other certain things will just get you a “Derpa derp derp.”

PS: Takato will be next to useless in the fighting areas while on this island, thanks to wrecking his body. So, it'll be mostly up to Ima, Raven, and Zora to continue.

Raven's eyes lit up at the thought of custom rounds. The closest he had ever had to those were blessed silver bullets during his time hunting Werewolves in Romania. He placed his cupped right hand on his chin to try and think.

"Well I love the thought of incendiary rounds, so a few would be useful. Poison too, can never be too careful. Oh, I have a sick idea!"

He held his hand out, now standing next to Takato, as if trying to show him his idea off in the distance.

"How about a paintball-style round? Basic bullet but fill it with a blinding agent, something that'll burn real nice, both in pain and in real flammability. It won't necessarily kill on it's own but you take away an enemiy's sight, you take away their ability."

Raven opened his coat slightly, removing the guns from their holster and sppinning them quickly before turning the handles over to the spell user.

"Now these are my babies, custom made down to the grips, but I'm sure you can handle that. Just don't scratch them."

He he flashed a comedic smirk before he patted Takato on the shoulder of his metallic arm, not taking any form of offense or disgust in it, but in fact, interest and a sense of happiness that there was at least one other person in this weird place that thought like he did.

"Thanks a lot, Takato. I'm glad at least somebody around here makes some sense."

He then turned to the desginated people who didn't, the traveling group of the lady summoner he had been hearing about. Something about them, about her caught his attention, but he couldn't think of it off the top of his head.

"I think she likes me."

He laughed.

The small girl would admit she was a little nervous being on a village right over the ocean. Still, she was doing rather well despite that, remembering her promises. Ima looked around, taking in both the sights and the rays of the sun.

She also watched Yuna leave and waved goodbye, another custom of this planet she had learned. Hopefully she would she them again sometime soon. Yuna was so nice.

Then Ima just continued to listen to the conversation she couldn't entirely understand.

"No problem, I should be able to whip something up," said Takato, rubbing his chin at the ideas rushing through his mind. He took the guns and then gazed at them for a second before nodding, placing them safely in his red coat. He turned to the small girl, holding up his metal hand for her to take. "Ima, I'll be needing to talk with you for awhile, if you don't mind me working on these in the process.."

Ima gave a happy smile before grabbing her friend's shiny hand with her own not shiny one. "No, I like the stuff you do!" She replied as she continued on speaking. "What do you want to talk about?"

One time skip later....

Takato stood within a trader room, one loaned out to him by the current lot owner. He currently stood over a pile of items on a table, a few books scatted around in the room. Every few moments he would check the book before a flash ran over his metal palm, a small glyph forming in the wake of Latin.

He smiled lightly at his work plans, looking over at the small girl in the room with his amber eyes. "I guess you're wondering what I want to talk about?" He chuckled and then stopped in his spell-casting before turning to her. The Rutherford was quite protective of the young girl, being stuck in a unknown and dangerous world. Half the reason he nearly killed himself fighting Sin and that creature was because of her being on board.

He wouldn't allow a child to die after all.

The Magi placed a gloved hand on her shoulder and gazed at her. "I've noticed a few things about you, Ima. That you're scared of water, that you cannot read, and that your magical signature drops when night falls...." Takato sighed and then chuckled, taking a step back.

"I would like to teach you what I can, Ima. Most of all, I would like to keep you safe..." He sighed and scratched his cheek, grinning. "Though I have to admit, you've already beaten my butt once, so I doubt I have to worry about that any time soon..."

Ima couldn't help bouncing in place a little out of joy and excitement. Takato was going to teach her! He was going to teach her! She didn't know exactly what he was going to teach her, but she didn't really think about that. He was going to teach her!

She was also a bit surprised that he noticed all that about her. Well, not the reading and water so much as the nighttime thing. She didn't think he'd be able to tell...unless the worst-case scenario happened. But again, her mind only partially registered this.

Takato was going to teach her!

"You'll teach me?" She finally asked what had been running through her mind over and over again. Her eyes were sparkling and she had one of the happiest smiles she had ever had on her face. "Really?"

She sort of made a flying tackle and hugged him.

"Thaaaank yoooooou!"

Raven had made his way over to the Inn the others had gone to. He wshed he had other options, but it was a new land and a new way of life, he couldn't afford to wander off, not yet at least. He entered the larger shack with a mixed look of determination and ease. He no longer had his guns on him, so to the citizens of Kilika, he was just another wandering warrior.

However, the occupants weren't all just citizens of Kilika.....

The stranged haired gaurdian with the islander accent, Wakka, shot Raven a glare as soon as he entered the Inn. This was getting old real fast, but he had to endure. Like it or not, his mission was Raven's now, and he would go through on his word no matter what.

Raven made his way to the counter, asking the Inn keeper if they also sold any form of arms. He was in luck, as the blades were brought to him. He sorted through them, each one like a new toy to a young child, but he eventually found what he had been looking for. Throwing knives, and what a beauty they were. Black hilts wrapped around solid steel blades. He shed a smile as he purchased them, as well as a mid-sized pouch to carry his small weapons and ammunition. He strapped it to his belt, nodding as he then made his way back outside, leaning against the shack with his eyes closed, awaiting the others.

"Morning." Zora muttered as she walked up to the young girl and blondge mage, rubbing the back of her head as she yawned. for some reason, she doesn't feel like her usual self, but decided to brush that off as she opened one of her eyes and looked at Takato.

"So? Are we gonna follow miss summonor or what? I could have sworn I saw them walking towards the forest.

"That we are, but for another reason all together..." chuckled Takato as he turned to Zora, his deep amber eyes holding a light hint of hidden maturity. "Yuna saved my life, and I'm going to repay that debt while trying to find us a way home. Yet, I'm not going to be her guardian, simply for that fact that it isn't possible."

He waved the demonic-armed girl off and then fixed his gloves, placing the created items on the table in a small steel container, making sure they were safely inside before closing the lid. He brought up the container and then stood with a struggle

"Hopefully Raven will be happy with these, it took some effort to gather the parts together..." Takato then took a glance at Ima with a small smile before patting her head with a free hand. "No problem, Ima. Come, I will begin our first lesson on the way to the forest. We should run across our other companion on the way..."

OOC: If you don't get what Takato is talking about in his first few lines, then you've not noticed something. So make sure you realise what it is before your characters say anything, or Takato will make you look like an idiot.

Zora blinked before letting out a sigh as she followed Takato. "Well, if there are any otehr god dam monsters...I'm sorry to say, but you'll have to leave me out of the fight for now." she said bluntly. She held up her right arm. "Unlike you guys, I can't use my arm constantly. If I use it now, it'll be far worse than that god dam pain i had to endure on the boat."

"Alright!" The child said, excited at the thought of a lesson. Then she noticed Takato having a bit of trouble with the box of things. "Let me help." She added as she lessened the gravity of the box and its contents, making it easier to carry.

She then continued to listen to the conversation. An even worse pain? She hoped that wouldn;t happen. Pain wasn't nice, and she would want something like that to happen to anyone, let alone Zora.

...Ima also hoped the woods let through sunlight. Even though she wasn't in immeadiate danger, if they did too much without sun it might happen. Her kind weren't used to so much activity.

The sun was high, gleaming through a near cloudless sky, bringing out the various smallc reatures to enjoy the day. A light breeze rustled through the branches of the hundreds upon hundreds of trees that built up the mighty forrest. A small flock of birds flew overhead, chirping happily at the beautiful day.

Raven had made his way to the forrest himself, trailing the Summoner Yuna and her Gaurdians. They may not have wanted him there, but he would stick to his oath, that is, as soon as the other three had arrived. He had removed a pair of black sunglasses from his coat, placing them over his eyes, shielding them from the sun. Some time had passed since he arrived, but continuing on would be a hypocritic action.

He looked down the path, relived to see three images making their way toward him. With further inspection, it was clear the three travelers he had meet on the ship were on their way in his direction, meaning that his favorite weapons and ammunition where on their way too.

Raven held up a hand to them, showing his location.

"Hey!"

"Hey!" smiled Takato as he bid a nod, holding up the box in his hand before passing it over to the gunman. He crossed his arms and then began to explain, his amber eyes flashing "Exactly what you ordered, with a few other things thrown in. Your guns should be within, fine tuned and polished."

He chuckled and scratched his cheek with his gloved hand. "Just be careful with those new rounds, as they're all magically enchanted. They should fire a lot smoother, but each one now packs the deadly punch you wanted."

He shook his head and then glanced at the box. "I'm not a weapon smith though, I had a few troubles getting the bullets to accept the seals, but I've done the best I could. This world has technology, yes, but simply not enough to make them as useful as possible."

BOOOOOOM!

A single explosion rocked the land, smoke leaking upwards from the direction of the forest. The unprepared nature of it, combined with the raw power had many people in Kilika shouting in fear. Takato stumbled, his eyes snapping to the forest as his hands twitched, his senses going nuts.

"That...doesn't feel good."

More reflexive than anything else, Ima turned her head in the direction of the explosion. What had caused that? That did not seem natural, een without hearing from Takato that was a bad thing.

Continuing to stare in the direction of the sound, she spoke to Takato and the others. "Should we go look?" Ima asked, very curious.

The weakened shockwave of the blast swept through the forrest, pushing the long coat and hair of the silver tongued gunsman. He looked over his shoulders at the billowing smoke rising into the air. There was trouble, and he needed to be there. Raven kicked the box open, reaching down and removing from it his precious "machina", his hand guns. He examined both, realizing the tuning and the polished finish, and smirking at the fact that they were obviously enhanced. He spun the guns three times before placing them back in the holsters they belong.

He looked down to the ammo inside, opening the pouch on his side that seperated into five sections, evening out the rounds into specific sections, before noticing the "few other things" Takato had mentioned. A few seperate rounds that had no special seal aside from the magic enhancements and armor piercing characteristics, corrosive rounds containing a type of acid. Those would come in handy against this mentioned "Machina". A remaining pocket on the coat served to contain the rest of the rounds. Rounds containing a strange substance, explained to cause heavy emotion in animals and fiends. He didn't see the remainder of the ammo, he didn't have enough time, he just poured them into the pocket, zipping it up tight.

He turned to face the smoke reaching up with his right arm and gripping the hilt of his sword.

"Well I don't know about you guys, but I said I was going to help the summoner whether she wanted it or not...........and I'm not about to go back on my word."

He turned and looked back at the group, nodding, before taking off running into the forrest, hoping to find the source of the explosion.

What they came to find, was not what they were expecting. At the center of the forest, a single figure stood over the scarred, unconsicious bodies of Yuna and her group. Spiking charges of energy crawled along the trees, a large aura of magical energy lashing wildly to the sky. The figure turned to meet the arriving warriors, his two cold blue eyes gazing back.

He seemed like a child, standing around the size as Takato with grey hair and soft features. Yet, the almost kind smile across his pale lips was chillingly bloodthirsy, a hand coming up in a waving motion. The blonde Magi looked at the energy siginiture in the area and took a step backwards, his amber eyes wide.

"...N-No way!"

It couldn't be...

OOC: I know what you're thinking. "What 'bout Zora?" She can rest for now if she wishes. She'll get to jump in later, because her GF is rather close...

Ima put a hand over her mouth and her eyes went wide. What had happened to her friend and the others? They were all hurt!

And who was the person? She didn't think that she had ever seen him before. He made he feel kind of weird, in a way that she wasn't sure how to explain. But it wasn't a feeling that she really liked.

Noticing that he was waving, she waved back.

"What happened? Who are you?" The child asked when she stopped waving. There were several more she wanted to ask, but she held herself back.

Raven had arrived just a few seconds before the rest of the group. He stood there, wide-eyed at the injured gaurdians. So soon, he had failed. He was in disbelief, looking at the area, the scen of attack, before looking up at the strange boy who presumably caused all of this.

"Who..........who are you?"

He kept the grip on the sword resting on his back, never letting his gaurd down through the sheer awe of the scene.

"Who the hell are you?!?!"

"He's a magic user.."

Takato toned, tensing as his amber eyes narrowed. He knew this because of the odd nature in the air, a feeling much like he got when he himself cast spells. The grey haired boy turned to the trio and took a step forward, bringing up his hands as sparks began to echo around his body.

"Omne Flammans Flamma Purgatus.....Domine Extinctionis et Signum Regenerationis..... in Mea Manu Ens Inimicum Edat...."

(Ever-burning Fire of Purification, Lord of Destruction and Sign of Rebirth, Spring Forth from My Hand and Throttle My Enemy!)

The Rutherford froze.

Latin...?!

A crimson glyph formed beneath the grey haired boy, flickering flames spinning around him as his two palms lashed forward. Trees and earth alike turned to ash, an explosion of flames expanding outwards at the three with a shout of the spell name,

"Flagarantia Rubicans!" (Red Blaze)

Takato shot forward in an instant, pushing out his metal arm as his amber eyes glazed with blue light. Latin streamed over his lips, a hurricane of air rushing around his form to meet the blaze. "Flans Paries Venti Vertentis!" (Blow Forth, Wall of Churning Wind)

The two blasts cancelled each other out, leaving both parties unharmed in essence. Takato stumbled before falling to his knees, holding his chest as sweat dripped from his forehead. Using a C-class defence spell while being so low on magic and raw energy was almost suicidal.

"G-Guys, be careful. T-This guy is a Western Magi!"

OOC: Teh plot thickens..?

Raven spent no time in removing his sword from his back through the space on his trench coat, holding it out infront of his form, gripped in both of his gloved hands. He spread his legs apart, claiming a better stance to both launch offense and defend himself.

"So we're not the only ones......"

A magic user, eh? No problem. He had hoped Takato might have foresaw an enemy like this meeting them, and prepared ammunition as such, but in the back of his mind he had something to prove. Machina were a sign of weakness in this world, and he would prove his worth. His sword wouldn't let him fail, it never let him down before.

Then it hit him.

"Ima.......it's only you and me in this one! Everyone's depending on us!"

He pushed his feet into the ground, awaiting the first attack. A wise warrior never struck first.

"Yuna....."

He tightened the grip on his sword.

"The Gaurdians...."

He brought the sword up, it's various features, including the very large skull that rested on the hilt that gleamed in the sunlight, the ruby-like crystal at the very bottom of it shimmering.

"Even Zora and Takato right now! Hit 'em hard, girl! Don't let up!"
