The Prolouge: Birth of Shinra

"No gaurd." She said, taking Street Bouncer and discarding it into the drop zone. She looks back up at him as the glow in her eyes started to return.

"Oh?" Shin said in wonder as he started to notice something forming. "Overlord's skill... when it hits a rear guard and retires it, I can stand it. Now, attack Deatharmy Lady with the same furious power!"

"Guard! Lucky Girl and Three Minutes!" She places the two triggerso n the guardian circle, discarding them in the Drop Zone aas she drew a card. "Ride, Stern Blaukruger!" Her vanguard upgraded to its final form. "Call, Blaukruger and Dancing Wolf!" In place of the Street Bouncer tha used to be there was Blaukruger while Dancing Wolf was palced behind her vanguard. "I'll attack you with Deatharmy Lady and Dancing wolf!"

"No guard..." Shin said as his damage check revealed a Dragonic Overlord. "I don't like this at all... I can feel something within you. A power similar to mine. God's power is reserved for god alone!"

Nova's eyes narrowed as he looked at the blue haired girl. She seemed to be the only one not surprised about what was happening. Why was that? And why was she even there? He didn't like it, especially if Leia had anything even close to Shin's power.

"I don't care about power or God, Shin. I told you this alraedy!" LEia shouts, glaring deeply at him as the glow intensified. "Stern with Dancing Wolf attacks your vanguard!"

"G...Guard!" he called out as he threw down Embodiment of Spear Tahr and Bellicosity Dragon to stop the attack. "I won't lose to you! Not after what I've become!"

"All to vanguard." Leia said as she twin drives the two cards, revealing a critical trigger and stand trigger.

"No!" NO!" Shin said as he flipped the card for his damage check. It started to glow as Shin laughed lightly. "Ha... Haha... Heal Trigger... I can give 5k to my vanguard and heal a damage..."

"But now he has to check again. The odds of getting two heals in a row are almost impossible. Even if he does, Stern Blaukruger can attack again..."

"I won't lose! I am god, and god can't be defeated by a false prophet like you!" His entire body started to glow with a dark aura as he roared out. "I'll use all the power I can muster to defeat you! I..." He stopped as his head pulsed yet again. Just like before, except worse. He collapsed completely onto the ground as Maria only grinned.

"S-Shin!" Leia's eyes widen as they returned to normal. She tries to rush over to him, but just like Shin, her head pulsed slightly, causing her to stagger back. "N-Ngh...my head..."

"Not bad," Maria said as he started to walk forward. "But I'm gonna need you to come with me now. There's something we need that power of yours for..." Before anything else could be said, Nova tackled Maria down onto the ground. Holding onto her, he yelled out, "Leia, run now!"

Leia's eyes widen as Maria started to advance towards her. "W-What? What do you mean?" As soon as Nova tackles her down and tells Leia to run, she hesitates. "W-why? Nova, what's going on?"

"I don't know, but just run!" he shouted to her, showing he was serious. At the same time, Maria struggled to free herself. "Hey, get the hell off, asshole!" she called out.

Leia staggers back, staring at him with wide eyes before she dashes out of the room. She wouldn't stop running in fear of something. At that moment, she rdidn't realize she was on the street until she heard a deafening screech followed up by turning to the side and seeing a pair of lights.

CRASH!

It took quite some time for Nova to lose sight of Maria to the point where he could look for Leia, but when he saw a crowd of people gathering, he looked down to see the problem. He immediately took Leia to a hospital, doing everything he could to take care of her. He sat in the hospital as he awaited a doctor's word. As he did, he thought about Shin and about the girl. It was obvious they would come looking for her. He had to do something to protect her.

"Nova Egret?" Said a man as he came out of Leia's room. He adjusted his glasses as he looks at the clipboard. "I say, you were right to take here this quickly. Any longer and I'm sure the girl you brought in would have died of blood loss."

"I figured..." Nova said woefully as he closed his eyes. "What's her condition? Were you able to help her at all?"

"We've managed to stabilized her...and she even regained consciousness for a fwe moments before." The doctor said, clearing his throat as he looks at nova with a serious expression. "It seems...she doesn't know who she is or what exactly happened. It's very likely she has amnesia."

"I see..." Nova said lightly. If he had amnesia, there could be something he could do to help her. Something to hide her. He turned to the doctor and said, "Can you do something for me? I don't mind paying for it if need be, but some people are looking for this girl and I need her identity to change. If you could dye her hair and put a different name on her records, it would be enough."

"...What an odd request...but all right." He said, writing it down on his clipboard. "Sadly, I don't think it'll be safe to touch her for at least two days...we don't know how she'll react, at the least. That also means you wont be able to visit her for two days."

"That's fine," Nova said lightly. "Me being here won't help anyway. There are other things I need to do..."

"After that day," Nova said to Sera within the hospital room. "I didn't go back to see you. Instead, I transferred schools and began to train myself. To become stronger, I used a meditation technique to suppress my abilities. That way I can battle people below Shin's level and still be challenged, thus growing from those challenges. I can't forgive what happened that day... What's worse, Shin began searching for you after that. "God's power is for me alone." That's what he said. When he couldn't find you, he focused on creating Foo Fighters, the team we would have developed together. I mailed you the address with a note that you should stay away from that place. I never saw what the doctors did to change your appearance, so I didn't notice you that day in Card Capital. Like I told you, I didn't know it was you until I saw that deck..."

"....Wow..." Sera said saddly, looking down at the ground. "E-Even after telling me this...I stil ldon't remember all of that. I...I wanted to talk to you earlier because I remembered something that had to do with you and wanted to know if you knew me..." she fell silent, clutching onto her blanket. "I..I'm really useles..."

"No... not useless..." Nova said as he turned to her. "You were the last friend I made. After what happened to you, I stayed away from people and worked to try to learn what that Power is. You would have defeated Shin, something I couldn't do, and you have the potential to be a strong cardfighter. Not through power, but through your skill." He closed his eyes lightly as he said, "That person, Zeiro. He is working with the blue haired girl... that means they want you for whatever reasons they have."

"...Do I...have the same power as Shin?" she asks lightly, her vioce starting to sound more quiet as she began to grow a bit sleepy.

"I don't know yet," Nova said. He didn't want her to worry about it, and he still wasn't completely sure if it was the same or just something similar. "Either way, you need to find your own power. That way, even if you do have it, you'll never become what he is."

"...I still don't like it..." Leia mutters, rubbing her eyes as she lets out a yawn. "I'm...tired..."
