The Road to the Regionals: You Avatar

Nova closed his eyes lightly, knowing this wouldn't stop until he told her the truth. He opened his eyes as he looked outward to the hospital. He whispered lightly, "There's a reason the deck you were comfortable with in the Shop Tournament was a Nova Grappler deck. The one who taught you Vanguard... was me..."

Sera's eyes widen slightly as she spoke. "Then....why didn't you say anything? Why...didn't you...." It was no use. The girl was too exhausted and too weakened to say anymore, much less stay conscious. She slowly closes her eyes, fallign unconscious.

"H-Hey! Are you ok?!" Zora stammers as she sees Sera passing out. "Shit...less talk, more walking...actually, running would be better!"

They got her into the hospital, immediately moving to the bed. It wasn't hard to convince the doctors to give her a room with the blood on her mouth and Zach's shirt. They were all within the room now, looking at Sera as she was unconscious in the bed.

Nova was the first to move, aiming for the door. Forte moved his hand onto the door, holding it shut as he glared at Nova. "I don't think Nee-chan would want you to leave," he said sternly. "And what do you mean about what you said before?"

"He's right...for a shorty." Zora grunts as she stands up, stretching. "You're a douche if you jsut up and leave her while she's resting...I don't care about the conenction between you three, but at the last, stay here for her sake."

A knock echoes in the room as the door opens, revealing a white haired nurse. "Nova? Could I speak with you a moment?" Her voice was a bit monotone yet gentle as she awaits for his answer.

Nova closed his eyes in a pit of frustration. He gave a small sigh, as if to regain himself as he nodded, walking to the nurse. "Alright. If you need me, I'm here..." His arms were crossed lightly as he went to speak with the nurse privately.

"It's about the girl." She says, gazing at him. "Has she....gotten into any sort of accident prior to today taht you know of?"

Zora glares at the closed door before flaling back ont othe chair. "Damn it! What's going on?!"

"There are two..." Nova said lightly as he looked back to see that the door was closed. "The first is something I can't really explain. Her mind was crushed from the inside, and I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can do about that... The second was a result of the first... She wandered into the streets after the incident. A car came fast and she was hit. Her already damaged mind all but crashed and she lost her memories. Are you saying this is something from that time?"

"The second one is the cause of her current condition." The nurse said as she adjusted her clipboard. "Her internal bleeding is the aftermath of that accident. According to records, she was sent to this hospital as well, but disappeared after about two days. The wounds inside her did not heal properly and have reopen, most likely due to her memories returning to her."

Nova's eyes widened as he looked to the nurse. "Her memories... returned?" he said in shock. His hand clenched into a fist as his mind remembered what happened in a flash. He looked at her and said, "What does she need to do? Just tell me?"

"I said her memories RETURNING to her." she stresses, yet her expression didn't change. "For now, she needs to recover. Since the wounds have been healing themselves for all this time, I'm suer a day or two will be enough." she pulls out a pair of glasses and puts them on, reading her cilpboard.

"There is one thing...She seems to be in shock of something. I would like it if she had minimal contact with whatever it is for now...her injuries could open up again." She pushes up her glasses sa she looks at him. "Also, at the least, you should stay with her for a while, if only to ease her mental self a bit. I can arrange it so that those two won't be a nuisance."

Nova nodded lightly, looking back at the door to think. If they stayed, they'd ask more questions. He didn't want that. The less she knew about the past the better her health. He turned back to the nurse and said, "Fine, I'll stay, but the other three need to go. The blond one should be alright by now."

She adjusts her glasses again at his response. "All right. Besides, visiting hours are over so they'll be forced to leave anyways. You're an exception since it could affect the patient's health." She walks over to the door before turning back to him. "It's...not my place to say, but I'm sure she would want to know what happens, regardless of how good or bad it was."

With that said, she opens the door. "Visiting hours are over, you three. I'm afraid you'll have to leave."

Nova closed his eyes lightly as he thought of her words. Maybe she would want to know, but there were two problems with that. The first was her health. Could her body deal with the memory of what happened? The second, and more important detail involved Zeiro and Cardshop Psy. They were after her once, and it wouldn't be hard to find her with her memories in tact. Shin was already a moot point as he had seen her already, but he still didn't know what he should do.

Forte looked at the door until it opened, wondering what was happening within. When the door finally opened, he wasn't happy to hear the results. "What's that suppose to mean? We can't leave a teammate in this condition!" Zach stood up, knowing that there would be no use in arguing. He was worried, but he had to know at least one thing. "Will she be here alone?" Zach asked.

"Teammate or not, you have to leave or I'll have to call security." The nurse said sternly. "We have Visiting hours for a reason. she needs her rest." She moves out of the way to let Nova in. "As for the patient, Mr. Engret will be staying here...for the patient's sake, a tthe last. She's in no condition to be left alone, but not in a condition for there to be many people."

"...Fine." Zora says as she starts to walk over to the d oor, grabbing Forte's arm. "Come on, shorty. We're not needed here."

"Hey, I'm not short! And what do you mean we're not needed? You really wanna leave Nee-chan with this jerk?!" he called out as he was drug away. Zach smiled lightly and said, "As long as she isn't alone, then alright. I'll check in tomorrow."

Nova walked into the door as the others were leaving. This left Sera and Nova in the room, just them. He sat down as he thought of what to do when she awoke. Should he tell her everything? Should he try to hide it longer? There was no way to know what the stress of either would do.

"Well then, I'll leave you with her." The nurse says to Nova. She points over to a desk nearby. "If by any chance you'll stay with her thoughout the night, there's an extra blanket. If anything happens, please don't hesitate to call." With that said, she quietly closes the door and leaves.

A few hours have past before Sera made a small sound, shifting around in her bed before slowly opening her eyes. "where...?"

"You're in a hospital..." Nova said lightly. He was looking out of the window, at a nearby school building. He turned to her slowly, looking down at her. "You're going to have to stay until you heal this time. Leave the tournament to me. You wont need to fight there."

"This time...?" She said as she tries to sit up. Suddenly, she started to cough out violently, trying to suppress it as much as she can. As soon as she manages to calm down, she looks down at the ground, not wanting to look at Nova eye to eye. "I-I see....I guess....I'm just useless..." She blinks befoer looking up at him. "Nova...You didn't recognize me the first time we met. How do you know about me?"

"You're different from before, but I noticed one thing..." Nova said as he started walking towards her. "That deck... the one use used in the Shop Tournament. It's my deck that I gave to you. Didn't you think it was strange that you had so many cards within that deck similar to mine? The one who gave it to you in that box... was me." He sighed lightly as he knew the next part would be a long story. "As for the rest of it... You have to make me a promise if I tell you. Don't push yourself and don't stop searching for your own power."

"You...gave it to me?" Sera repeats lightly. "But...it doesn't have my name or your name on it. It has someone else's name." She listens to him and lowers her head at his last comment. "My...own power...I don't relaly understand what you mean, but...I really don't like...power...."

"You never did..." Nova said lightly as he closed his eyes. "It's a long story, but we have time here... just don't tell anyone else." He sat down as he prepared to tell her what happened.

"Y-You don't have to if it's too much trouble!" She suddenly says, waving her arms. "I mean...well...I guess....I don't know....but if you're goihn to tell me, I promise I wont tell..."
