The Beginning of it All

Byte grins as he dodges out of the way of his sword, tossing a Mini Boomer underneath him. "AirShots!" His arms turns into busters, shooting out bullets of air one by one at Byra-ken, making it near impossible for him to react.

"W-What?!" Lyre shouts, not expecting to be so damn accurate as to nearly hitting her head. She couldn't stop her movements, hititng him with her sword and being blasted away by the shotgun. "A-Aqua Tower!" Her hand slams the floor as a water tower shot up and headed towards Sniper.

Byra-ken had no ability to react, being struck by the AirShots that forced him back into the air. They pushed him back so much that he was near the point he began. "It won't be easy to get close..." Daichi said before he got an idea. "Area Steal! Step Sword! In!" Byra-ken disappeared, appearing in front of Byte, then disappearing again and appearing behind him, slashing at his foe's back. The fast and confusing movements made it difficult to even follow, let alone defend against.

The Blinder was still in effect, but the Navi didn't move. At least not at first. His helmet had cracked from the sword. "Sniper, roll left, then Spreader..." He loaded in the Battle Chip as the Navi rolled to the side. It was like a military roll. His rifle aimed, firing a shot that spread out and hit all angles around Lyre, making dodging almost impossible just as the Blinder expired.

"Argh!!!" Byte staggers forward, unable to keep up form his speed...or at least he makes Byra-ken think. The sword hits a statue instead of himself. "Guardian...a Mega Chip. TIme to end this!" The statue floats up and shoots straigth for Byra-ken.

Lyre's eyse widne, cyring out in pain as the blinder wore aoff and she was hit directly form all over. "S-Shoot!" Asari takes a step back, looking up at Sean with wide eyes. "Who...who are you?!"

Byra-ken's eyes widened as it seemed he was going to be hit. He'd never seen a Mega Chip before now, so it caught him completely off guard. "Ah... Sword! Widesword!" he said as his hands both gained blades. The Widesword attacked the statue, cutting it in half which reduced the damage, but he was still hit. He started to dash forward as Daichi said, "Alright... Mari used this one too... Longsword! Advance!" He put in the Long Sword as Byra-ken's blade became a large green sword. He sent it out towards Byte. His last stand.

"I came here to find something..." Sean said, looking at her with a small glare. He was looking specifically at her burn marks. "So far, I'm greatly disappointed... Is this really all you can muster?" He moved his hand out, showing a M-Cannon Chip. "If so, I might as well end it here..."

"A program advance, huh...?" Kurika narrows her eyes at the move. It seemed to be weak in form compared to Mari's. "Byte! We'll show them our own!" Quickly, Byte tries to dodge out of the way, getting hit on teh arm as the unstable program advance vanishes. "Triple Spreader!" His right arm turns into a rather bulky buster, firing off at Byra-ken with precise aiming.

"W-What?!" Asari hisses, glaring at the chip in this hand...why were there so many good operators in such a simple tournament? It made no sense! "We'll see about that...." She pulls out a chip from her pocket...an incredibly rare Mega Chip that a normal person shouldn't have. "Lyre!"

The navi nods as she inserts another Blinder chip to hinder Sniper's eye sight before pulling out the battle chip and inserting it into the PET. "Muramasa! Battle chip in!" Instead of her arm changing into a plasma like sword, Lyre held with both of her hands what looks like an ancient Japanese sword, emiting a strange aura before she dashes forward towards Sniper. She only had one shot...if she was even hit by the M-Cannon, she would lose. "Take this!!!!" She cries out, jumping up and slashing down with an incredible amount of power.

Daichi's eyes widened as Byte took the advance and kept coming. When the Spreader was fired, he immediately logged out. Daichi had admitted defeat. "Daichi conceeds! The winner's are Kurika and Byte!" Daichi was so confused. How could someone that good have stayed so under the radar until now?

"That move..." Sean said, seeming slightly more interested in the battle. As soon as the sword sliced the cannon, Sniper tried to duck, but his helmet was hit, revealing that he.... was a she. Sean logged out, turning as he said, "Guess I found what I was looking for after all. Asari, right? I'll have to watch you..."

"Hmph...Logging out. What a weak way to be defeated." Kurika grunts, logging Byte out of the machine. "Don't think you can be strong just because you're trying to copy someone else, punk."

Asari blinks, looking at Sean with a confused expression. "H-Huh...? Wait, are you just going to log out like taht?! Seriously?!" She couldn't believe it...Was he the type of guy to run after seeing a strong chip like that? "Y-You...Who are you?!"

Daichi clenched his fist in anger for a moment. Byra-ken looked at him and said, "You didn't need to log me out. I could have endured and fought on." Daichi turned his head and said, "I didn't... wanna lose you..." His words were light, only light enough for Kurika and Byra-ken to hear. "Let's just watch the finals..." He started to walk away, keeping his head down.

Sean started to walk away, as he did, he lightly said, "You'll find out... I have a feeling we'll meet again." He was walking to the door, passing Kurika along the was. "Watch out... she's tough," he said with a grin before leaving. It wasn't long after that when the finals were ready to begin. Daichi was standing front and center, watching with his arms crossed. A part of him still wished it was him up there.

Asari didn't know what he meant, glaring at him as he walks away. Soon, the finals came with Kurika and Byte vs Asari and Lyre. The battle instantly showed everyone the differences between the two operators. Quickly, Lyre was on her knees, injured greatly. The two of them didn't expect this much of a difference. "D-Damn..."

Kurika grins as she held up a Hi-Cannon. "Oh? You're not very tough, are you? I heard form a little birdy that you'd be a challenge...but this is as far as you go?"

Daichi's eyes were wide at the sight. He couldn't believe he even lasted against someone with this level of skill. It was like a completely different league from what he or Asari could do. He stood up and said, "Damnit, Asari! Is that really the best you can do! Come on, just get in and get her!" Since it was a tournament, he couldn't say it outright, but Byte seemed to be favoring his left side through most of the battle.

"S-Shut up, you stupid brat!" She shouts out as Kurika inserts the chip into her PET. "This is the end! Byte!!!" Byte grins as he holds out his arm, shooting the cannon at him.

"Ugh...I really don't wanna resort to this...It's just a tournament..." Asari mutters as Lyre ddoges out of the way. "For now...Wide Sword!" Lyre's arm transforms into a widened sword as she runs up to Byte, slashing at his left side. He quickly blocks it with his cannon arm. Lyre quickly notices this and attacks his right side. HE couldn't react fast enough, crying out in pain as he was it.

"It seems the wound we inflicted before lingers," Byra-ken said to Daichi. Daichi, however, looked on at Asari intently. Something about this situation... he couldn't explain it, but it felt like she was holding something back... even with her Navi so close to defeat.

"Impossible." Mari said as she stood next to Daichi with her arms crossed. "Navis don't get wounded like humans...unless it was some sort of data damaging attack."

Asari saw that Byte was injured, putting in chips at a time to hit his right side. Byte and Kurika saw that they foudn out his weakness, trying to protect it as long as they could. Soon, Asari ran out of chips but her Muramasa one. Some of the attacks hit, but it wasn't enough to take them out.

"Annoying little...Take this! Program advance! Life Sword!" Byte's two sword arms fused together to create a green floating sword in his hands. He quickly slashes down, shooting it towards Lyre. "S-Shit....Battle chip in!!!" There was a blinding flash of light, engulfing the navis into it and preventing anyone from seeing what was happening. When it faded away, Byte fell to the ground, logging out and losing the fight.

"Well, we did something we never did before... so we don't really know what it did..." Daichi said, then turned just as the battle ended. "The winner... Asari and Byte! They are the champions of today's tournament!" Everyone cheered as Sean grinned from a window. He turned and started to leave. As he did, he picked up his phone. "I found one... Asari Shiwa... Navi: Lyre... Bring them in. She can get the other one..." He hung up the phone before walking off.

Daichi was mad, so angry at himself for not being stronger, but what could he do? He thought his technique was great but now...

Asari sighs, unplugging her PET from the machine as she has won the fight. Kurika did the same well, congragulating her as she left the shop. "Lyre...Why were there so many strong fingers in a small tournament in a small town?" She questions her navi in confusion as she was quickly being bombarded by people due to her win.
